Get MeowShare

MeowShare is currently available to invited internal testers. Public App Store and Google Play downloads aren’t available yet. Already invited? Use the installation instructions in your beta invitation.

Android testing invitations are being prepared. The homepage’s Google Play button opens the invitation request form. Requesting an invitation does not automatically enroll you in Google Play testing.

Host a local server for a browser

  1. On the hosting device, open the installed MeowShare app and choose Start local server.
  2. On another device on the same Wi-Fi, open the app’s private QR/link in a browser.
  3. Use Send to host to offer a file for approval in the app, or Download file for the file selected by the host. Keep the host app open.

The installed app hosts this HTTP page; the browser connects as a client. This connection shows an Unencrypted transfer notice. The separate browser-to-browser web app offers Sender or Receiver at normal startup. An invitation link opens Receiver only. Either browser can initiate that peer session without an HTTP server.

Keep MeowShare open on both devices until the Wi-Fi receiver shows Saved and verified.

Send over local Wi-Fi

  1. Open MeowShare on two compatible devices on the same reachable local network.
  2. Tap Get Started or Start Transfer. Enable Share over Wi-Fi, allow the requested access, then tap Go!.
  3. Choose Receiver on one device. Choose Sender on the other and select one file in the native picker.
  4. Select the receiver with the Wi-Fi badge. Scan or paste its fresh private connection link when needed.
  5. Approve the device and file on the receiver. Wait for Saved and verified, then use Save a copy in Activity or History to export it.

If discovery or a transfer fails

Check both apps are open and Local Network access is enabled. Guest Wi-Fi, VPNs, firewalls and client isolation can prevent connections. Try the private connection-link fallback. Keep links and QR codes private. End the session and start a new approved connection before explicitly retrying; MeowShare does not silently resend failed files.

Bluetooth and scanning

Tap & Purr enables optional Bluetooth sharing. Wi-Fi can work without Bluetooth. Bluetooth is intended for small files because its current payload is held in memory; there is no fixed app size cap. Save received Bluetooth files explicitly before closing the app. Do not interpret Sent or Temporary as a saved Wi-Fi receipt.

QR scanning is optional. Denied or unavailable camera access has a paste-link alternative. Android scanning uses Google ML Kit and its diagnostics, described in the privacy policy.

Delete files

Delete saved Wi-Fi originals through MeowShare’s file/history actions. Exported files and copies on another device must be deleted separately. End Transfer stops the session; it does not delete completed files.

Contact support

Email [email protected] with your device model, operating-system version, app version and a short description. Do not include private files, passwords, active links or QR invitations. The app does not automatically attach logs or file contents.

TestFlight testers may also use Send Beta Feedback in TestFlight. Response times are not guaranteed. See the privacy policy for provider processing and correspondence.
